The Donkey Sanctuary

The Donkey Sanctuary Cork aims to improve the quality of life for donkeys and mules while creating a better understanding and support of these incredible animals worldwide. This is an open farm and is home to over 150 donkeys and mules.

Getting around the Donkey Sanctuary

Start your day at the Donkey Sanctuary at the Visitor Information Centre where you will be greeted by friendly staff who will give you some information about the donkeys, walkways and what you can expect to see.

The walkway begins at the Lime Kiln Walk underneath the lime trees. Sections of the walkway have been signposted to make it easier to find your way around.

Along the walkway there are multiple points to see the donkeys, historical sites and the village countryside of Liscarroll.

Visitors can also see one of Ireland’s 13th Century Castles along the Rock Walkway. This walk also loops around the Valley Walk and Fort Walk.

It is free to enter the Donkey Sanctuary as they are a charity, any donations would be appreciated to support their work and care of the donkeys. These donations can be made by traditional donation, virtually adopting a donkey or buying their donkey related products.

The Donkey Sanctuary also holds a number of live and interactive events. Click here for upcoming events.
