Dine and Stay the Sustainable Way in The Imperial Hotel Cork

To highlight our ongoing commitment to sustainability and our #BecauseWeCare programme by offering green-thinking guests a new ‘Sustainably Cork’ getaway break that puts the focus front and centre on sustainability. We have partnered with local eco-friendly businesses to create a getaway break that won’t cost the earth!

Enjoy a two-night stay in the heart of Cork City with a trip to Nano Nagle Place to soak up some culture followed by lunch at the trending sustainable Café Restaurant Sonflour with dinner for two in our sustainable restaurant.

The adventure starts with two nights’ accommodation in a luxurious guest room, where you can gaze out at the leafy green avenue of Cork’s South Mall below. On the first evening of your stay unwind over dinner for two in the hotel’s sustainable restaurant Sketch, which serves high-quality local and seasonal produce.

After a restful night in the luxury surrounds of the historic hotel, you will start off your day with a sumptuous ‘Birdcage Breakfast’, featuring locally produced and sourced produce for the lowest possible food miles.

You might then like to go on foot to explore Cork City Centre, with the renowned English Market within easy walking distance an absolute must-visit location to soak up the spirit of the city or refresh your senses al fresco in the pollinator-friendly parklet outside the South Mall entrance to the Imperial Hotel, here you can sit amidst the herbs and flowers with a takeaway coffee or tea in one of the hotel's signature compostable cups.

Revitalised and ready for the next adventure why not keep with the carbon-neutral mode of travel and opt to walk, or cycle to the nearby Nano Nagle Place Visitor Centre, just over 5 minutes from the Imperial, with entry compliments of the hotel should you wish to have a guided tour.

Nano Nagle Place is an unexpected oasis in the centre of bustling Cork City, a place that celebrates Nano Nagle’s vision of empowerment through education, community inclusion, and spiritual engagement for a contemporary world. This modern visitor attraction houses a museum, heritage rooms, peaceful gardens, described as ‘a lung for the city’, a design and gift shop, and a Cork focussed book shop in the museum. The beautifully regenerated convent buildings are home to several educational charities so the sustainability credentials of this attraction are genuine and thoughtful, meaning your visit will leave a lasting impression.

Also included in the Sustainably Cork Package is lunch for 2 on an evening of choice at Sonflour- a sustainable café restaurant Inspired by Italy and grown in Ireland. Located on Castle Street in the city centre Sonflours’ menu is inspired by Italian street food, is fully vegetarian with many excellent vegan options and was created to celebrate a sustainable way to eat while supporting the locality.
