In September 2015, a new era of global development began when the United Nations (UN) officially launched its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform our world and “leave no one behind” by 2030.

For this strategy, governance is of high importance to coordinate and monitor progress on the implementation of new and existing policies. Given the complexity and depth of this agenda and its goals strong and effective governance arrangements are a key element to ensure successful implementation.
Since 2019, our aim has been to develop internal and external responses to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and incorporate them into planning and policy by introducing performance indicators for each goal in The Imperial Hotel Cork.
Our Imperial Family are always looking for ways to reduce our footprint, care for and protect the environment, and give back to the communities we are part of.
Our passion for sustainability is at the hotel’s core, however we appreciate that there is always more to do. We are dedicated to continuous improvement in this area with the whole team.
