The Ferris Wheel & SOLAS Lights

Step Into the Magic | Grand Parade

This winter, the heart of Cork City transforms into a sparkling wonderland as the Ferris Wheel and SOLAS Lights return to the Grand Parade, bringing festive cheer, colour, and enchantment to all who visit.

From mid-November through early January, the towering Ferris Wheel lights up the skyline, offering breathtaking views over the city’s twinkling streets and the River Lee below. Whether you’re wrapped up with loved ones or taking in the sights solo, it’s a must-do moment of wonder high above the bustle of the city.

Below, the SOLAS installation bathes the Grand Parade in a glow of artistic light. Designed to bring warmth, joy, and connection during the darkest months, this dazzling trail of light sculptures and projections invites you to slow down, take it in, and feel the spirit of the season.

Located just minutes from The Imperial Hotel, this festive display has become a much-loved Cork tradition — a perfect blend of nostalgia, artistry, and winter magic. Whether you’re exploring the city for the first time or rediscovering its seasonal charm, the Ferris Wheel and SOLAS Lights offer a truly unforgettable experience.

Please note: Dates for the 2025 display have not yet been confirmed. For the most up-to-date information, keep an eye on the Cork City Council website and official event announcements.
