Bar Manager

My Job involves planning, directing and overseeing all bar operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency.

I began my career in the hospitality industry with The Imperial Hotel as a Junior Duty Manager in 2010. Working here gave me a real passion and flare for the industry and I knew I was hooked on the hotel sector. In 2013, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons and so I moved to the west coast of Ireland to Co. Clare. For two and a half years, I managed Moy House, a beautiful boutique hotel, with a two rosette restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2014, I graduated from GMIT in Galway where I achieved my honours degree in Business and Hospitality. Then in 2015, while I was managing Moy House, we won the Best Boutique Hotel Award in the National Hospitality Awards.

From there I moved to Galway City, where I was an Assistant Manager in the Salthill Hotel for over two years. Here I worked and developed my skills in all areas of the business from bars, events and weddings.

In 2017, I moved back to my native cork and rejoined The Imperial Hotel management team once again. I'm delighted to be back in the Imperial Hotel as it has a great sense of family and some of the team that I worked with before are still here which is a great testament to the owners and the group.
