Executive Head Housekeeper

My job is to ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to hotel standards. I work with a large team of housekeepers who are all dedicated to ensuring that these standards are met and exceeded daily. We take great pride in ensuring the hotel is always looking her best.

I started my career in 2006 at the age of 15, where I was employed as a Housekeeper in the five-star Sheen Falls Lodge Hotel in Kerry. During this time, I learned all aspects of working in an Accommodation Department from laundry work, cleaning bedrooms, evening turndown service and working as a linen porter. I was promoted to Assistant Accommodation Manager in 2012 when I finished my college studies. I studied Early Years education in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, however by the time I finished I was already bitten by the hospitality bug and decided to stay on this career path.

In 2014, I started my first management job as an Accommodation Manager in The Ambassador Hotel, Cork City and in 2016 I grabbed the opportunity to work in the Imperial Hotel when the position of Executive Head Housekeeper became available. In 2018, I project managed a major refurbishment of 45 bedrooms in the hotel, which included installing air conditioning as well as a complete overhaul of each bedroom from soft furnishings to bathroom remodels. I was also awarded Manager of the year for this effort.
