This June marks the 60th anniversary of the Royal Visit to Ireland by Prince Rainer and Princess Grace of Monaco who, along with their children, stayed with us in Cork on the 24th of June 1961. To celebrate the anniversary, we have created a unique Princess Grace-inspired city break that will see you crown Cork as the ultimate staycation destination this summer!
Those who book to stay on the anniversary night itself, 24 June 2021, will be royally rewarded as they can avail of a Princess Grace 60th anniversary special. Guests will get a taste of ‘High Society’ from the moment they arrive as they enjoy a majestic treat from the Hotel’s Director of Welcome.
During your royally romantic or girly getaway break, you can indulge further with a Princess Grace Afternoon Tea for two at ‘High Noon’ in Lafayette's.
Continue the imperial pampering with a ‘Graceful Escape’, the ‘title’ bestowed on a new luxury treatment at the hotel’s Escape Spa. The treatment draws references from her famous skincare regime.
Finally, avid royal followers can learn all about the royal visit as they peruse an archival newspaper exhibition in the elegant lobby. You will also have the opportunity to spot other famous past guests who stayed at Cork’s most iconic hotel on the ‘Wall of History’, including Michael Collins, Charles Dickens, and Maureen O’Hara.

The 2-night Princess Grace Pampering Package from €195 sharing, includes a treat on arrival, accommodation in an elegantly appointed room, 'birdcage' breakfast for 2, dinner for two on one evening at Sketch and Princess Grace Afternoon Tea with prosecco for two at Layfeyette's on one day. It also includes complimentary Grace Kelly Turn Down, with a new Princess Grace signature scent launched for the occasion. We will use a mist with Aveda Bergamot essential oil, some beauty tips before bed. This package is available for Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th June or Thursday 24th & Friday 25th June only.

Princess Grace Anniversary Special, 24th June only: The Princess Grace anniversary special for €60pp sharing includes a treat on arrival, overnight accommodation in an elegantly appointed room, a royal breakfast for 2, and complimentary champagne flights for two for those who book dinner. This also includes complimentary Grace Kelly turndown.
A Graceful Escape spa treatment
The spa treatment lasts 1h 40mins and can be booked for €180pp. This is available on the 24th June only.
Following a relaxing steaming ritual, you will enjoy a Rose Petal Foot & Hand Exfoliating treatment and a Full Body Massage with sea wave-like strokes where your skin will be splashed 30 times with warm water as a nod to the Princess’s love of the sea and her well-documented splashing technique, all while Grace’s signature scent of bergamot uplifts your senses. The ritual will be completed with a Facial including Voya Pearlesque moisturiser with rose extract, drawing inspiration from the Princess’s love of pearls and roses. The after-treatment refreshment in the Relaxation room will include fresh carrot & celery sticks which were Grace’s favourite snack.
Princess Grace Afternoon Tea
The Princess Grace Afternoon Tea is €60 for two people with prosecco.
The treats, which are fit for a Princess (and Prince) feature delicate pastries inspired by Grace Kelly’s favourite things including a GK Perfume Bottle, a mini-"Hermes" handbag, red velvet cake, a strawberry and champagne scone, and a selection of mini sandwiches.
